This year was the first year of my revamped Dream Team Senior Ambassador Program. Each year I look for a handful of Juniors to represent Freeland Photography and participate in some amazing experiences throughout their senior year. This year I had 7 wonderful girls as a part of my Class of 2015 Dream Team. Each ambassador is selected based on their personality, character, and involvement in school and community. I look for young adults who believe the best in others and want to make a difference in this world. Each one of my ambassadors this year are very special and unique. I have grown to love everyone of them like they are my family.
The ambassadors this year got to participate in two exclusive events that will change every year, have extra mini shoots, as well as earn credit for their senior portraits. As an added bonus, the ambassador with the most referrals got to win a Dream Shoot. The winner this year was MacKenzie. MacKenzie is my Jackson High Ambassador and referred friends from many different schools. She is a very accomplished violinist, and even works a part time job during the week! I know she is going to go on and do so many wonderful things in her life!
January was the time to do Kenzie’s Dream Shoot. I decided to make it more of a couture session, and utilize our winter weather(I was praying that we’d have snow then!). I knew exactly where I was going to get a dress from, a company called Dream Shoot Rentals. A very well known fashion photographer Lindsey Adler started this company where you can rent couture dresses to do some amazing shoots with. I have been honored to be able to learn from Lindsey at a few conferences I attended last year, and have seen her online workshops numerous times. She is such a wonderful educator, if you are looking to learn from someone..she should be on the top of your list! AND she is coming to speak at our very own Detroit Professional Photographers Association in May! What an exciting opportunity!!!
For Kenzie’s Dream Shoot I went with a dress added to the lineup in the fall. A blue/purple parachute dress. Yes, that is right. It’s made out of a parachute..and is AMAZING! Below are some of my absolute fav’s from our Dream Shoot, but the video at the bottom showcases all of them. Be sure to check them out, and be sure to leave some love for Kenzie!
Also, I am still taking applications for my Class of 2016 Dream Team shoot, you can find all of the information HERE:)
