Sometimes when you have to be the one who runs everything in your business...you tend to start fixating on only one thing. Usually it's either Business stuff, or creative Stuff. For awhile now, I have been focusing my efforts on business items, Like pricing, marketing, website, accouting-all the things that it takes to run a business. But I had given my creative side a bench seat for too long. I promised myself that I had to always keep working at my craft. I like to do this, so I know I can give 100% of the best to every client that walks through my door. I want to be the best, so I need to start working on that skill again.
Having been a big sports girl growing up, I know all too well that you must practice to become better. The same goes for photography. If you are not always pushing yourself, and your abilities, you will never get better than you were yesterday. This is how my inspiration jar was born.
So I made myself a pretty jar, and put one of my favorite quotes on it. In it, I have put different photography techinques I want to work on, types of shoots I want to do, dream locations I'd like to photograph at. All things that I want to practice and improve on, or even just try. I decided come June 1st I would draw out one of these pieces of paper each Sunday, and do that type of shoot that week. I am so excited to see what the future brings out of these little projects. My first draw was on Sunday, June 1st and I pulled out "Beautiful Light-Motion".
I had one week to put together an idea for this assignment. I called two of my Class of 2014 Seniors and planned a dusk session with them. I am so happy with how everything turned out. And I am equally excited to see the next assignment. I hope to have the photos of that week blogged by the following friday, so be sure to check back each week to see what I will do next:)
Here are the photos from this week:) Leave these two amazing girls some love in the comments:)
