What I want for you on this New Years Eve
As we bring a very weird, disturbing and sometimes heart breaking year to an end, it can be very easy to want to get to New Years eve and say “good riddens” and throw the confetti, pop the champagne and get the heck out of the year from H E Double hockey sticks.
What I want for you this New Years instead of just moving into the next year, or skipping your resolutions because 2020 happened and screwed everyone, is to focus on that big, beautiful and smart MIND you have. Work on building a stronger mindset that will help you overcome obstacles better than any physical training you could pay for.
What I want for you is to forget the words CAN’T, and FAILURE. I want you to pretend that you never even learned those words to begin with. They are words that only destroy your dreams, not help you reach them.
If you want to start building your dream life, there is no FAILURES. Only events that help you shape and decide where to go next.
If you want to start changing what happens in your life to something better, there is no CAN’T. Only choices on what you deem a priority.
These two simples words can destroy a dream faster than any other element that is physical or intellectual.. Our mind is a very powerful tool and if used correctly, can lead to greatness and a life we have wanted for ourselves for so long. But if it is used for the opposite, then that dream life we imagined and hoped for will always be a distant view.
If I could go back and give my younger self one pearl of wisdom, it would be the advice above. The only reason I know that your mind is a powerful tool is because I have used it for good in my life, and also very bad. There are times when I am so in tuned with my mindset and my dreams, that I feel it all falls into place easily. Then there are times when I get so down with negativity that I seem to attract all bad things to me. It has been a cycle for so many years.
So my wish for you all, is that you work on changing that mindset. It is not easy. It is probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It’s a daily struggle and a daily battle to keep your mind in the correct place to reach your dream life. It is WORTH EVERY SECOND of effort to accomplish this. Working on your mindset, does not mean that you won't have any bad things to work thru. That part of your life won't change. We can't control the things that happen to us or around us. But having your mindset strong, will help you deal with the crap that life can throw at you(hello 2020!)
Now there are certain techniques that one can use overcome this struggle in our minds. I am here to tell you my favorites and what has worked for me the past 10 years of doing this.
