I've always been a little OCD about my hair. I've always worn it long(except for a few occasions), and it is BONE STRAIGHT. When I became pregnant with my son, I started to neglect the Salon purchase because I knew I had to "save money" As the days became weeks, and weeks became months, my hair just got LONGER AND LONGER! I wish I could say that my son is only a few months old, but no, I'm that woman, and he is 9 MONTHS OLD. So Basically I haven't had my hair trimmed, colored, or just plain gotten rid of the nasty in a LONG TIME.
If you know me personally, then you know that I was not blessed with independent wealth. But I was blessed with a giving heart, and very good (and for my sake) managible hair. I always like to find ways to give back to the community and those who are less fortunate than I am with my abilities. After many days of the same ol' pony tail, actually this was more like MONTHS of pony tails, I decided to follow in my older sisters footsteps and donate my locks! My sister Brenda, who is a very loving individual, donated her long locks this last summer. With my OCD about my hair, I get nervous doing any sort of change to it. I now only have 1 more week of these long strands. With this deadline, I decided to do what every normal, sane photographer would do. Let's do some self-portraits!!
Today I started and was just going to try to take some "nice" shots with my hair just straight. But instead it turned into "model-esque" wanna be photos. Don't judge. I know many of you try to do those Tyra Banks "Smile with your Eyes" Photos too. I have to give those models credit though as it is tough to fling your head around and try to make a "sexy" face! I did not accomplish this very well, but I really enjoyed doing this. I decided to make it a daily project until I chop off my hair! Each day I will do something different with my hair and make up! Gives me an excuse to learn new make up techniques, and try some new fun lighting/backdrops/props, etc! I will then do some after photos with the new style!
Today's session was a head-flipping experience. I seriously made myself SICK from whipping my head around to get the hair going! Little extreme, but still quiet fun. Hope you all enjoy. Please leave a comment if you like my photos, like my blog(I'm not the greatest writer), or just want to laugh with me!

Carla Foster - Very Cool! If your locks are going bye-bye, you need to do another one with your hair wet! Have you seen photos where girls are in the water and they lift their head out of the water? Really cool affects. Being a photographer myself, I have always wanted to do a set, have not found the head of hair to support it! lol
