One of the things I look forward to the most with my dream team, is working with them and getting to know each of them. One way of doing this, is getting them together for concept shoots. We do 2 planned concept shoots each year. One in the spring of their Junior year, and another in the fall/winter of their Senior Year. I try to think of ideas or themes that I get excited and creative about. For this years dream teams first shoot, I decided to try something a little different. Since I have girls from 4 different schools, I wanted to not only get to know each of them myself, but I wanted them to get to know each other. Being a part of the dream team, I try to get together with them many times through out the summer and their senior year to stay connected. Many of them already are friends, or know each other from school, but as a part of being on my Dream Team, I wanted them to work together and get to know everyone on this years team.
So I decided our first concept shoot would be a DIY shoot. There were 5 groups of girls(two in each group) and I assigned them to a "prop" that they would need to make their costume out of for their photos. I let the girls know ahead of time, who they were working with, and what tools they would be using. Then I went to Pinterest and started pinning inspiration for them to get them thinking. I am so excited with what they came up with, and I had such a fun time at this shoot. Here are just a few of my favorite ones of each girl, and then a little behind the scenes video to go with it!
Also on the day of our shoot, my girls also took over my snapchat and documented during the whole process. If you missed it, no worries, be sure to follow me on there as this will be happening more at my sessions this year:) snapchat is freelandphotos. Also be sure to follow me on Instagram(freelandphotos) as I post many sneak peeks and behind the scenes there also!
Enjoy!
Here are some of my favorite of the final images!
